ParticipantProblem:
We have a ticket item number and we want to easily find the corresponding event that the ticket is for.we are an organization that has a lot of events for the summer (100+). We offer the same event on different dates (so the ticket description is the same) but the event pages are different.
we receive a payment notification from papal saying someone paid/singed up for a event. But we are having a hard time cross referencing the ticket to the actual event.
The payment receipt has the ticket item, such as Item# 2334:2349, but I can’t find a way to search our events for this number.
We could put unique info into each ticket description, but since the tickets already have a unique number, this seems unnecessary. And we would have to go back to update 100+events/tickets.
Any ideas?

KeymasterHello,
Thanks for reaching out!
There is not an out of the box way to search by ticket number across multiple events, but it sounds like you might be adding these tickets on recurring events, is that correct? If so, then the tickets apply more to the series as a whole – they will not be added to individual dates in the series. This type of functionality is something that we’re working on building out for the future, but unfortunately for now, the only way to add tickets to individual events is to create the events separately or break them from the series.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if I’ve misunderstood what you’re looking for!

ParticipantThanks Jennifer,
I understand. For now, we’ll probably add a unique identifier to our ticket descriptions so we can easily cross reference them.
We actually are not using reoccurring events. Each event is separate from the other similar events–they are the same class but different students each weeks. And the individual events span multiple days. So we couldn’t get reoccurring events to work for our work flow.
I see there is the ticket SKU, which also seems like it should be used for cross referencing. But we don’t get this info back in the Paypal receipt.
Thanks for your help

KeymasterHello,
You could also look into doing a customization – our themer’s guide is the place to start if you’d like to give it a shot!
You can also try exporting the attendees from each event and aggregating them into one spreadsheet. If you need more robust order management, then you might want to look at Event Tickets Plus, which integrates with either WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads.
Please let me know if you have any other questions!
