ParticipantHi,
The server crash as described here:
https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/recurring-events-issues-3/ and
happened to me as well and I would like to find out what’s the best way to create events that do not recur but never stop / continue for years. Is the best approach to use a start and end date and leave the recurring events untouched? If so, can I disable this funtion because there are other users creating events too and the recurring events functionality is serious. Thanks in advance,
Kim

MemberHi Kim. Sorry you experienced that issue.
Going forward, are you wanting to have an event that never ends? For example, it starts June 15 at noon and just. never. ends… ? 😉
If yes, I expect it’ll show up as an all-day event on every day of your calendar’s Month View but only show up once in other views like List View.
If this is what you want, I believe the only non-code way to pull this off is to set the end time as some arbitrary point in the future (e.g. Dec 31, 202o).

Although not quite relevant to what I discussed above, we do have this code snippet if it may be helpful to you in some way: Don’t display end time for events starting and ending on the same day

Please let me know your thoughts.

ParticipantHi Cliff,
Thanks. This is exactly what I mean. Events that never end. I have the perfect job 😉 I am using the plugin to display activities. The functionality required is very similar to event listings. All activities have a location, an organiser and a start- and end date. I am now trying to adjust the specific event features into an approach that works for activities. So I will use ‘all day event’ in combination with an end date in the far future and I will try to remove the recurring event using CSS, I guess that’s the best approach for now. Thanks for your thoughts!
Kind regards,
