How to change preset title text and excerpt for password protected events

When an event is defined as password protected, it appears in the calendar as: “Protected: Event-Title”. And when the excerpt is shown when hovering over the event title in the monthly view, the event’s excerpt is replaced with the text “There is no excerpt because this is a protected post”.
Is it possible to replace the text “Protected” as well as the above preset excerpt with a custom text and what is the best way to do this?

Hi koladarcek,

This is really something WordPress is doing, rather than The Events Calendar. You can modify the post title output though using the the_title filter, something like this.

With the excerpt message you are again running into WordPress’s default behaviour, in this case you would probably find it easiest to override and customize the month/single-event.php template and follow this sort of approach.
