I have a calendar set up for events that the general public can view and submit to. I would like to create one on the dashboard only for bloggers to post when they will submit their blogs with the title of the post. Only bloggers and I have access but not the public. Is this feasible? Thanks. Lyne
Hi Lyne, I’m not quite sure I understand how this would work but I can say that, unfortunately, it is not the sort of request we can offer official support for.
If this is simply a convenience feature so that you/an admin can quickly review when posts were submitted I would guess that a simpler solution (that moudling The Events Calendar to fulfil this role) could be created to meet this goal specifically.
I thought there might be ways to create different types of calendars. With Google, I can create different calendars(by colour & names) under the same calendar but they can be specific as to who sees them. Are you following me?
Yes I’m following you, but our plugin doesn’t currently allow you to create separate calendars within a single blog. You can however categorize events and only show events from a specific category. With the help of some third party plugins you can also do things like add colouring effects.
However, there aren’t really any tools to limit who can see a particular event – nor is The Events Calendar/Events Calendar PRO geared up to render the calendar inside a dashboard widget.
What you want is almost certainly possible – but again it’s sufficiently unusual that we can’t offer support for it here.
