ParticipantSo, I’m currently running my clients on Google Cal, using Time.ly, and it’s not gorgeous, but it works. Our concern is this — with the ability of adding occasional Facebook Events, will we have total control?
Can we essentially have a Google-based system with occasional Facebook integration that won’t get bloated or require a lot of management?
Does this make sense?

KeymasterHi Joshua,
Thanks for checking out our plugins!
Using Event Aggregator, you could schedule events to be imported from both Google and Facebook or import manually as needed, so there shouldn’t be much management required from that aspect.
I’m not sure what you mean by having total control…If you can clarify what you’re looking to do a little bit, I’ll let you know if it’s possible!
Thanks,
Jennifer

ParticipantYes, what I mean is this. I only want the occasional Facebook event to be added to the Events Calendar — certainly not all of them. I also don’t want duplicate events happening, if we have it listed in both Google and Facebook. Is there a way to control what gets posted easily?
If we do have duplicates, is there a way to quickly delete them all?
Thanks! Just transferring over from another calendar brand, and these were some of the issues we were having then.
Cheers,
Josh

KeymasterHi Joshua,
Thanks for clarifying! Yes, you can import events individually – you do not have to “bulk import” all events from Facebook or Google. You can preview the import and select events to include/ignore, but there currently really aren’t any other controls at that level to set “rules” so to speak on what to import and what to exclude.
Regarding duplicate events, EA will try to update an existing event when importing if it is coming from the same source, but unfortunately there isn’t currently a way to update an existing event when the import is coming from a different source. If you are events individually, hopefully this will keep you from running into any issues with duplicates. However, if you do wind up with duplicates, you might try using a plugin like this one to clean them up.
I’m sorry I don’t have a better answer for you here, but I hope that helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Jennifer
