THIERRY
ParticipantHello!
I enable the option to generate a post when I create a new event. It appears on the blog page but it doesn’t generate real post. When I go to the post tab of WP nothing appears.
My problem is that I would like it to be a real post because I’m using the DIVI theme and I would like the event to appears on the front page via the Blog Module that only takes into considerations real WP post.
How can we make events real WP post?
Thanks

ParticipantHey Thierry,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
Unfortunately that isn’t the way that option is designed to function. The events will display in normal WordPress loops for the home page when that option is selected.
There are two options here though. The recommended option would be to filter the module that DIVI uses and have it include posts of the “tribe_events” type. This will prevent duplicate content from being shown on your site.
The other would be to utilize the “wp_insert_post()” function and have it fire on tribe events save. You could grab the necessary information and have the post created that way.
I’m sorry I wasn’t able to give you a direct answer here but hopefully this helps to get you pointed in the right direction.
Thanks!

ParticipantIt seems that the recommended option you gave me needs a hell of customisation of the theme.
But because I’m stubborn I circumvent the problem with the plugin « Post grid ». It takes in charge the tribe_events post type and generate a shortcode that I could insert in a DIVI Code Module.
Now I’m wandering. Beyond this short support posts exchange what is the advantage to subscribe to the Event Calendar Pro? I notice slight differences but nothing outstanding. I’m I missing something?
Thanks

ParticipantHey Thierry,
I’m glad you were able to find a solution that worked for you here!
The subscription covers access to the Pro version of the plugin which includes the features described here as well as access to updates to the plugin that help to ensure compatibility with WordPress as well as the core Events Calendar plugin.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
