How can I tell if iCal importer will work for my site?

I am looking at migrating a client from a proprietary CMS to wordpress. I have used Events Calendar Pro for quite some time on other sites, so I would like to use it for this one.

The existing site has -a lot- of events. Their current site does have an ability to save each individual event to an .ics file, but that would be hundreds of individual events to export and import one at a time.

Is it possible for someone to look at the existing site and let me know if there is a way to export and import in bulk, one-time? I would rather not post the URL publicly but I can e-mail it to someone.

Thanks for reaching out to us!

The iCal Importer sounds like it could work for this site IF there is a global .ics feed that is generated for all the events on the site. If so, that would be the simplest approach.

If not, the best approach would be to grab the events from the database as a CSV and then ensure the fields match up to the basic importer found with our plugin and import a CSV that way.

I’m sorry I wasn’t able to give you a direct answer here but hopefully it helps to get you pointed in the right direction.

Thanks for the response. We couldn’t locate a global .ics feed but it looks like we are able to grab the events and use the CSV import approach.
