How can I sort events by start date in a WP query?

Hi Team,

I’m using a WP query to pull in events on a page. I’ve constrained the query to upcoming events, but I can’t find documentation on how to sort them by start date (and time) rather than by created date. How could I do this?

Thanks, Rob. I discovered my confusion. There are code snippets here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/the-events-calendar-template-tags-general-functions/

But despite the description that says they’re sorted by event date and ordered by ascending, those params aren’t in the actual code. It might help others who aren’t regular WordPress devs to include those pieces specifically.

Hey Robbie. Thanks for confirming; glad to hear you got this figured out. I can certainly see the value of including what you’ve noted there. Let me get Jonah, who wrote most of the documentation up there, to take a look and see what it’d take to incorporate that. Thanks for the heads up.
