We upgraded from the free events calendar to pro. But have a few issues. We’re using Enfold and need the site to be as maintenance free and user friendly as possible. As such hardcoding with risk of update clearing is not the best method in this case.

Firstly on featured posts the display image is huge (bigger than the block)

Secondly we were not entirely happy with how the widgets display events (lists etc.) So used a blog post. However here it displays the posts in order of publish date so does not remove out of date events. Is there anyway we can use a view as it appears in the related events on a events page? Is there a short code etc. for this – seem to remember that the basic calendar had a code… gone since upgrading.

In regards to the featured image, your theme may be overriding the image size. Here is a helpful guide that explains how you can control this:

In regards to better display of the widget, you can use the filter setting for more advanced control of what you would like to display. Look at the guide below under the “Filter” heading:
