Homepage Not Displaying Due to Event Calendar Conflict

I installed the Event Calendar plugin and purchased the Community Events add-on. When you attempt to navigate to the homepage on my site the following message appears: “Why Am I Seeing This Page? Go to Settings -> Reading, select “A static page” option and from the “Front page” drop down menu select the desired page (leave the Posts page drop down menu empty).

After following the directions and the issue continuing I contacted the theme developer who advised me to deactivate all my plugins to determine if one is causing the problem. When I deactivated the Events Calendar my homepage started appearing normally. I tested it out with the Twenty Eleven theme with all the plug ins deactivated except the Event Calendar and with that theme the homepage does appear as it should.

Any help advice with this issue would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, josephnm. This is a great question!

It looks like you’re being hit by a bug in the current release that overrides your settings for a static front page. Please check out our fix here: https://theeventscalendar.com/fix-for-static-front-page-being-overridden-when-including-events-in-main-blog-loop/
