there is an issue with the event organizer portion of our “Submit an Event” form. for my settings, under PRO options, i have “No Default” selected for “Default organizer for submitted events” but on the form, “The co-luminate Team” is defaulting in the drop-down and no fields are visible for users to submit their details. as a result, almost all the submissions that we have received have “The co-luminate Team” instead of the user’s info. in other words, user’s aren’t seeing any fields or prompts to fill-in their contact info, and therefor aren’t submitting any. this is a significant issue as we aren’t able to respond to the organizers in question since we don’t have their info.
i searched the forums and found the following forum thread:
https://tri.be/support/forums/topic/can-i-hide-the-saved-venue-and-saved-organizer-drop-downs/
however the solution offered seems outdated as the file structure of the plugins seem to have changed. (or am i missing something?)i’d like the default view show “Use New Organizer” and SHOW the fields for user’s to submit their details. how do i go about this? if necessary, hiding the drop-down of saved organizers altogether would be an acceptable solution. but i’d rather it show, just not default to an existing organizer.
see form here:
http://co-luminate.com/events/community/add/another thing i noticed: in searching for a fix this this, i reviewed the themer’s guide 3.0 and it looks like the file structure referred to here for community events may be outdated too. i see a reference to form.php, but i don’t find that file anywhere in my “the-events-calendar-community-events” folder (v3.2). if this is indeed the case, it would be helpful to update the themer’s guide.

Have you tried reverting to the default 2013 or 2014 theme to see if this issue still persists?
I’m noticing some “display:none;” style rules on each of those table rows, so I suspect this is something that is being added by your theme or by a plugin.
Give that a try and let me know what you discover. Thanks!

December 13, 2013 at 8:01 am #81591Aaron MaretParticipanti have a test install here:
http://co-luminate.com/test/events/community/add/
the display:none style rule is present when a saved organizer is chosen in the drop-down.
what i’m trying to achieve is have “Use New Organizer” display by default. this is how i have my settings, but the form defaults to “The co-luminate Team” for some reason.December 13, 2013 at 8:27 am #81595CaseyParticipantCan you allow non-logged in users to submit events in the test environment so I can take a closer look? Thanks!
December 13, 2013 at 10:51 am #81625Aaron MaretParticipanti have changed the settings to allow non-logged in users.
December 14, 2013 at 6:50 am #81739CaseyParticipantColuminate,
Were you able to resolve this issue? I’m seeing your desired functionality when viewing the Event Submission form in the 2013 theme: http://co-luminate.com/test/events/community/add/December 14, 2013 at 7:00 am #81740Aaron MaretParticipantthe desired functionality is working on the TEST install. i’m needing to get it working on our live site. please see my first post.
December 14, 2013 at 1:51 pm #81751CaseyParticipantGo to Events->Settings->Default Content and tell me what is selected for the Default Organizer field. It should look like this: http://d.pr/i/XduQ
December 15, 2013 at 7:27 am #81782Aaron MaretParticipanti checked that setting and it was set to “The co-luminate Team” and i changed it to “No Default” and it did the trick. thanks!
