My event calendar is going to have two types of events: Major and Minor. Basically, Major events are one-shot; they never recur. Minor events will be every week, or once every three weeks, or whatever. When I’m making a list of events, I’d like the option to either only show Major events or only show Minor events in specific places. i.e. on the front page of the site, I’d have a section called “Today’s Weekly Events” and only Minor events would show there.

Is there a way to hide or show recurring events, maybe using a shortcode or something?

    Hi,

Thanks for the interest in our plugins. We have two options on displaying recurring events.

We have the “Recurring event instances” which shows only the first instance of each recurring event (only affects list-style views and widgets).

And we have the “Front-end recurring event instances toggle” that allows users to decide whether to show all instances of a recurring event.

It could be possible you could use the setting to achieve you goal.

If you are looking for something more specific you would have to customize a query to achieve your goal.

Let me know if you have any follow up questions.

    Thanks

So it is possible to customize a query to do what I want? Could you point me in the right direction for that?

    Hi,

We have these resources to creating custom queries and that is about as much as we can provide on customizations:

    Using tribe_get_events

Query Ongoing and Single Events Separately

Those two show you how to create a query you are looking for.
