    Hey guys,

    Awesome plugin!

I’m using ECP on a Performing Arts Center website that has a weekly meeting on Sunday at 8:30am. They’d like to hide most of the instances of that event from their List view to keep things clean and tidy.

I found in Settings > General that you can “Show only the first instance of each recurring event,” and I have that checked. Unfortunately once that first event is past it never shows the recurring event again.

Is there a way to show _just_ the next event instance in a recurring event and then hide the rest? (Then, once that event is past it shows the _next_ recurring event…etc)

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Brad,

Stoked to hear you are enjoying the plugin 🙂

I found in Settings > General that you can “Show only the first instance of each recurring event,” and I have that checked. Unfortunately once that first event is past it never shows the recurring event again.

That definitely isn’t the expected behaviour. Can you point me to some live examples of this?

Do also take note of situations like the one I see on your current list view where you have two events with the same name – both are recurring – but are actually separate chains of events (and I’m guessing you did this so that you could have two events on a single day).

Once they exist in separate chains, though, there is no further relationship between them – is it possible that is at the source of this?

    Hey Barry,

    Thanks for the help.

I’ve added a new Event called Test on the site. I set it up for weekly recurrence, but started it last week: http://cl.ly/image/0B1W1w3I1z2p

It now doesn’t show up in List view at all: http://184.154.228.15/~numeric2/events/list/

Although it is showing up in Calendar view: http://184.154.228.15/~numeric2/events/2014-10/

So, would just like it to show up once in List view on Oct 1st. (Then, after tomorrow, on the 8th, etc…)

    Hey Barry,

Looks like the issue is now working as expected. I have been moving quickly on this project and may not have given the plugin enough time, or my browser was showing something cached or something.

Sorry about that. Thanks again for your awesome work and support!

Awesome – glad to hear it worked out 🙂

I’ll go ahead and close this thread in that case, but of course feel free to open new threads if this or anything else crops up going forward and one of the team will be only too happy to help.

Also, if you have a moment to spare, we’d love to hear more about your experiences with the plugin so far over on our plugin review page – thanks again!
