Hide from Calendar, Show on Widget

On my site, I have two categories of calendar content. Uncategorized, which is where almost every thing falls, and “Due Dates”, which is as it sounds – a list of items that are due at a particular time.

I would like to utilize the list widget to have the due dates displayed in a list to the right of the calendar and events – which I do currently using that widget. But, I would like to not have those due dates visible on the main calendar too.

How would I go about doing this? I don’t want it to be an exposed filter or anything, as that is not a setting that I want users or visitors to be able to access.

It’s nice to meet you. I’d love to help you hide those events from the main calendar. As it happens we have a snippet/tutorial on how to do that, but a recent update broke it. Let me rewrite the snippet tomorrow, then I will share it with you.
