Hide Event Categories and Tags in Details area

Hi TEC Folks,
I am trying to hide the Event Categories and Tags in my details area of single event view.
I have tried following the themers guide and other posts…. not much of a coder and hope that there is a way to simply uncheck a box vs, delving into a bunch of coding stuff. can you please let me know where to change this> Thanks much!

Hey Sonya,

Thanks for reaching out to us!

Unfortunately there isn’t a button to check/uncheck the visibility of the categories. However, you can copy the “modules > details.php” file into your theme at “tribe-events > modules > details.php”.

Then you can just remove all of https://cloudup.com/c_XrEDMUUTy from that file and those sections will be removed.

Thabks for the response. I am unsure to exactly what to remove since i am not a coder…. Do I remove the area starting at:

<?php
echo tribe (etc…….)

ending in ?>

Please let me know is this is correct.

Hey Sonya,

No problem. From that screenshot you can delete both of the “<?php ?>” blocks there to remove both the categories and the tags.
