We are checking your “The Events Calendar” but we need extra features and we are not sure if the pro calendar is enough.

Our plan is to do a site for the events like these:

    http://www.ifema.es/climatizacion_01/Actividades/index.htm
    http://www.ifema.es/genera_01/Actividades/AgendadeActividades/index.htm

Your plugin seems powerfull but we have limit with the filters, and with the Speakers of the events.

Have you got any experience or site example with events inside an exhibition centre, or congresses center.

    Thanks.

    Hi Jose,

Thanks for getting in touch! I’m really excited to hear you’re looking into our plugins and I hope they’re a great fit for your project. 🙂

I took a look at the links you provided and I think you will get a lot of what you’re looking for with our free WordPress plugin, The Events Calendar:

    The Events Calendar

That will give you the calendar and the ability to publish and manage events to the calendar.

You mentioned liking the ability to manage event speakers. If you add Events Calendar PRO to your site, then that will provide you with pages for event “organizers”. We use the word “organizers” right out of the box, but you can customize that to “speakers” using this free extension we provide:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/extensions/the-events-calendar-extension-relabeler/

Events Calendar PRO also includes features for recurring events, additional views, shortcodes and other things you might find handy.

You also mentioned filters. For that, I would recommend our Filter Bar add-on, which adds a bar to your site that allows your visitors to filter events by a number of variables, like category, organizer, venue, time of day, distance and other options.

In short, I think you will be pretty well covered by our plugins. Let me know if there are other requirements you are looking for and I would be happy to let you know if our plugins can handle them. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hi Geoff,

We are interesting in that kind of view, like in this showcase

    https://theeventscalendar.com/showcase/medspeaks/

Could we check diferent kind of views? or how to customice it.

    Thanks

    Hi Jose,

    Thanks for following up!

That’s a really nice showcase example of how someone has customized the default List View template that comes with The Events Calendar.

The default view looks like this:
    http://wpshindig.com/events/list/

The showcase example overrode our template with their own. You can do the same thing by following the instructions in our Themer’s Guide. That provides step-by-step instructions for overriding the calendar’s templates with your own to create custom layouts.

You also asked about checking other views. The demo site that I linked to above will allow you to see all of the views that are available in Events Calendar PRO:

    Cheers!

    Hi Geoff,

We want more the customize of the List View template, that other view.

What is better, create a new view or customice?

Are there more information or a video about customization?

If we finally choice, seems that we need filter adddon and the pro version.

The problema in that our only need it, for congress , fair, with like 100 events in 4 days. We think more in a agenda kind view that, without photo or resume, in the home page.

    The relabeler was a help.

    Thanks

    Hi Jose,

I think the best route for customization really depends on how extensively you want to modify the layout. If you think you can modify the List View with just a few markup changes and some CSS, then a template override is a great way to go since it gives you a head start.

However, if you want a lot more flexibility, then a new template is a great option as well. If you go that route, then you will want to use the tribe_get_events() in your template to create the loop and we have good documentation on that:

    Using tribe_get_events

I’m afraid we do not have videos on customizations like template overrides. However, you can always open threads here in the support forum with your premium license for each of your questions and we’d be more than happy to help along the way as best we can — we’re unable to actually code customizations for you but are always available to help guide you.

    Cheers!

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
