hcalendar structured markup?

Does The Events Calendar add hcalendar markup to events? I am looking for a platform to do this so that the events can potentially show up in google search results.

Hi Scott.

We do implement JSON-LD but not hCalendar markup. JSON-LD is Google’s preferred format. You can read more and see their JSON-LD examples at https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/events

Thanks for the reply. I see now that the json event code shows up on individual events pages and the event is also showing as a rich snippet in the search results. Is there also a way to use the plugin to add the json code for multiple events to the site’s homepage. Ideally, I’d like a list of upcoming events to appear under the main search result or at least under an event category page. I’ve seen this done in other search results. You’ll see an example if you search “cpr lessons minnesota”.

Scott, I didn’t see any event-type listings when I Googled “cpr lessons minnesota”

Anyway, our archive views do include JSON-LD in the page source.

For example, go to yoursite.com/events and click to view the page source and search the page source for “ld+json” and you’ll see data there. Please let me know if you’re not…

Regarding wanting this markup on your home page, you may be interested in this KB article: Embedding Calendar Views with the [tribe_events] Shortcode — or you could use one of our plugin’s other widgets or shortcodes.
