ParticipantHi,
I’m having trouble getting started. I’ve been working on this for two days and I feel like I’m just running around in circles.
My goal is to be able to sell tickets to our local community based pancake breakfast.
I bought Event Ticket Plus
I have WooCommerce
I have my SSL
WordPress 4.7
Divi version 3.0.27I’ve read the primer several times but I’m still mixed up.
I don’t want to use the calendar (at this time, definitely later).
I’d like to just have a place where people can buy tickets as a stand alone option. I’d really like to just make a landing page and have the tickets for sale there.
1. Is that what an event page is for?
2. Should the tickets be showing up on the event page? https://www.vwdadsclub.com/event/the-dads-club-annual-pancake-breakfast-2017/3. Can I get the tickets to show up as a product in the woocommerce “shop”

MemberGood evening Stephen and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the confusion you have experienced while trying to use Event Tickets Plus “standalone”. I would love to help you with this topic.
I’d like to just have a place where people can buy tickets as a stand alone option. I’d really like to just make a landing page and have the tickets for sale there.
To achieve that, you will need the following:
- Our free Event Tickets plugin
- Our premium Event Tickets Plus add-on
- WooCommerce
This means that you actually do not need to install the Events Calendar for now.
In a nutshell:
- You can establish which post type (in your case a page) can “sell tickets”. You do that by going to Events -> Settings -> Tickets
- Once you have made sure “Page” is selected, you can can head to any Page.
- In that page, there should now be a “Tickets” metabox. This is where you can create your tickets for that page.
1. Is that what an event page is for?
No, the event page is not required to sell tickets.
2. Should the tickets be showing up on the event page? https://www.vwdadsclub.com/event/the-dads-club-annual-pancake-breakfast-2017/
Right now, that page returns a “Page not found” message.
Perhaps you have taken it offline ? Unless this is just a URL where you would expect tickets to appear ?Could you expand on this ?
In any case, based on your need, you should not need to use “Events” to sell tickets.
3. Can I get the tickets to show up as a product in the woocommerce “shop”
Absolutely. The default behaviour is that tickets are virtual simple products that are hidden from the catalog/search.
You can:
- Edit the Ticket WooCommerce products individually to change that visibility.
- You can use the following snippet in your theme’s functions.php https://gist.github.com/jesseeproductions/5768685acc4cd48cdd81
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
