Hi There – I’m building a site that will use Events Calendar Pro and we want to link to 2 different event categories

    mysite.com/category/local-events and mysite.com/category/trade-events

We are also purchasing the filter bar add on – but I would like the filter bar to display on both these event pages.

Is this possible with the category pages? Or is there another way to display 2 different events category pages so we can have the filter bar?

    Thanks

    Howdy Sofia,

That is definitely possible. By default the Filter Bar will appear on both of those pages/categories. You can see it in action here:

    1. http://wpshindig.com/events/category/tech-meetups/
    2. http://wpshindig.com/events/category/tech-events/

Notice how the same Filter Bar appears above both pages. Of course that example shows the Horizontal Filter Bar, but even if you plan to use the default Vertical one the same bar will appear on both pages.

    Does that answer your question?

    Cheers!

Okay thank you for your great response – is there anyway to have 2 different filter bars appear on these pages – as they may want to use different filtering parameters for each?

We’re coding a theme from scratch so are able to modify the plugin files

You could certainly customize things to do that, it will require a decent measure of skill with PHP to get there though. We can definitely give you an overview, but it will be up to your or your programmer to write the actual code.

You can however customize which filters appear for all views from the admin area.

    Does that answer your question?
