MemberHi,
Just upgraded to Pro yesterday and upgraded the Events Calendar plugin, and the grid view page is loading without anything inside the tag. I have a complicated theme set up and don’t want to revert to another theme or deactivate some key plugins that are tied to some set up that will be time-consuming to set up again… Any tips on where to look for solutions?

MemberWell, it’s the default templates(ecp-page-template.php & ecp-single-template.php)’s call get_header(); not executing (somehow it leaves a chracter “>” in its trail…).
I use Gantry and it might be because of that. It was working before, though…

MemberHmm, I can’t see the problem since you’ve got a holding page/maintenance mode plugin activated, but this isn’t the first time we’ve heard of problems with Gantry.
So far nobody has forwarded a copy to let us play with this, unfortunately. If you are able to do that though then please email me ([email protected], marking the email for my attention and containing a reference to this thread) and we’d be happy to take a look.

MemberSorry about the lapse, and the page not showing. I will email you today.

MemberWell, itโs the default templates(ecp-page-template.php & ecp-single-template.php)โs call get_header()
We did actually have an exchange with another user on this and they forwarded some information from the Gantry team which suggests that get_header() will indeed fail due to the way that theme is structured.
What we’re planning on doing – not just for Gantry but for a number of theme frameworks that operate in a way that differs significantly from default themes – is prepare tutorials to help guide people through integration.
That isn’t going to happen overnight, but we do hope that by the time of our 3.0 release (which is already in beta phase) we will also have the tutorials ready.
If you are still able to send across Gantry and the child theme you are using (if applicable) that could definitely still be useful in our efforts, but we probably will not be able to provide any further support in the immediate future until those tutorials are prepared.

MemberHi Barry,
Thanks for your note. The page in question is in fact live, here:I’m forcing the header information with css links via “HTML before calendar” textbox in the template setting within the Events Calendar, but it’s far from ideal for lots of reasons (I don’t even know if it works on all browsers like that).
I’m using a modified theme based on the Gantry’s default “Gantry Theme for WordPress.”
What would be helpful from you right now would be just a hint or direction as to where I should be hunting for the problem/solution… Is your tutorials be for making the events page be generated outside of the framework/theme structure? Overwriting the plugin files?
I’d be shooting in the dark without any direction, so anything would help.
Thanks again,

MemberI won’t be preparing the tutorial so I can’t really offer further guidance at this time, I’m afraid, particularly as Gantry isn’t something I personally use.
The Events Calendar is far from the only plugin to use the concepts of “virtual pages” and of template overrides … I’m not sure what sort of support Gantry offers but perhaps you could search their forums/pose a question to them and see if there are some generic solutions that could be leveraged?

MemberThanks Barry,
I will try getting help from the Gantry folks. It does sound like a rather convoluted problem, I hope your tutorials will help people get to the solutions in more straight-forward manners:)

MemberHopefully so – you’re certainly not the only person asking about Gantry so this certainly seems worth looking at in more depth. For the time being though (since we’ve already settled on the idea of creating some tutorials) I’m going to close this thread – of course if you need further help or assistance please don’t hesitate to let us know by creating a new one.
Cheers ๐
