MemberI’m hoping to gain some advice on the function that is used to switch between the grid view and the list view. More importantly, I’m looking on how to disable it. I want to display the grid and the list view simultaneously in the same page template. Ultimately, my goal is to modify the grid to “control” the list view.
I’ve tried customizing the mini grid widget but it’s too barebones for what I’m looking for. I was unable to get the tribe_get_previous_month_link and tribe_get_next_month_link functions to work with the mini widget and not effect the list view.
Thanks,

MemberHey Brody. Thanks for reaching out. Would it be suitable to just hide the grid/list toggle buttons, or do you also not want users to be able to access via direct URL? If just the latter, that should be straightforward. Let me know and I can offer guidance as needed.

MemberHi Rob, just hiding the toggle buttons won’t work (already tried that). I guess I’m looking for them to not access via direct url as well.
you can view my progress at http://test2.inspiredrevolutions.com/calendar/
Currently, when I use the previous and next month links on the top grid, it also changes the list view to the grid view.

MemberAh, gotcha. Thanks Brody. That’s a bit outside my area of expertise, so let me see if Jonah has any ideas when he hits the forums tomorrow.

ParticipantHi Stephen, I’m not sure if this is possible so I’m checking with another developer to find out. We’ll let you know.

MemberHi again Stephen. We talked this over with our dev Joey today, and unfortunately it’s no small feat to accomplish this. This is the kind of thing that would take a significant amount of time to investigate (could be 15 minutes, but more likely 30m to 1h to find a good working solution, if not more). Given our limited bandwidth we’re unfortunately not able to provide support to that degree.
That said, we are going to be working on a version of this for 2.2 as part of the responsive design. So you could either wait for 2.2, which is still a couple months out, or I could refer you to some devs who may be able to assist. Let me know your thoughts.

MemberThanks so much for y’alls time looking into this. I really appreciate it!
Instead, would it be easier to modify the mini grid to act like the large grid? I really need the grid to be able to navigate between months. I tried doing this using the template and calendar functions found in the documentation here but was unable to come up with the right solution.
Thanks,

MemberThanks Brody. I’ll get Jonah to comment directly, but I’m pretty sure the mini grid modification to include those next/previous month links would be somewhat complex. Let me see if he can point you in the right direction though.

ParticipantHey Stephen, the next/prev links for the mini view is no easy feat indeed. However, we do have this on our todo list for an upcoming version but you’ll have to wait until then.
Cheers,

MemberHey Y’all,
I appreciate the help and quick responses. Would y’all be willing to customize the large grid for me so that it work the way I need it to? If so, how much do y’all charge per hour?
Thanks,

MemberHey there Brody. Thanks for the note here – while we as the Modern Tribe are unfortunately booked pretty solid into summer, we do have a network of freelance devs we’re always happy to put users in contact with if they’re interested. Shoot an email to pro /a/ tri.be with a link to this thread and we’ll make it happen.
