ParticipantHi
I have two events. All the settings are near identical and I have ensured the “show on googlemap” box is ticked in both venue box but only one event is correctly showing googlemaps info.
I’ve created my own API in the API help section but alas it’s still not working. I am getting this error when editing venues which it’s probably linked too.
The latitude and longitude for your venue could not be fetched. The Google Maps API daily query limit has been reached!
If I change the venue to be the same still the googlemaps doesn’t show one one of them.
UPDATE:
I’ve created a new event from the back end with the same venue and this time googlemaps link works!
However when I try to create the same event via the front end (Using the Community Events plugin and selecting a saved venue) the googlemaps link doesn’t work. Even though the event has it selected in the back end.I suspect it’s some kind of bug which I beleive I’ve seen elsewhere in the forum but thought I’d raise my own thread to be certain.
Please Help
Kind Regards

MemberHi Kieran.
First, please reference our Setting Up Your Google Maps API Key article. It may not solve your problem but is best practice for you to know about if you haven’t already entered a Google Maps API key at wp-admin > Events > Settings > APIs
In addition to that article talking about a Google Maps JavaScript API browser key, this code snippet may be what you need for Google Maps Geolocation API server key:
https://gist.github.com/cliffordp/9d6c25feb389f98e8ae09a41273a3488
Finally, you may also be experiencing a known bug of ours. Here’s how to reproduce it (assuming all other parts of your site are working properly):
- Have an existing venue that DOES have Show Google Map and Show Google Maps Link checked (you can even view the Venue’s page to make sure the map actually works)
- Create a new event via Community Events form and select this venue
- Publish/View this new event and see the venue map is not displayed on the Event Single page
Because of this last part, I’ll mark this ticket as Pending Fix, which means this thread should receive a reply once the applicable fix has been released. I cannot guarantee when it will be fixed as it’s in the development team’s hands now. They need to assign it, code it, test it, and schedule it for release. I apologize for this issue and appreciate your understanding and patience.
Please let me know if you need assistance with anything other than the known bug issue.

ParticipantHi Cliff,
I can confirm I’ve set up the Googlemaps API key as attached in the link and posted the code in which seems to stop the error message. I don’t think I’ll use the longitude and latitude much but useful to have in case I get a venue in the middle of no where!
I can confirm I’m experiencing the same bug
Thanks
