ParticipantI see others have asked this but appear to have simply accepted it as a fact of life. I am looking for a better solution 🙂
It seems that Events Calendar Pro is somehow generating lots of links to pages which don’t exist, so Google Webmaster Tools is reporting thousands of 404 errors and regularly reminding me of this.
This has suddenly started happening, since 20th Jan. Is it a coincidence that this was the same time as my Pro licence expired (since renewed)? Is it something to do with recurring events?
An example from my blog is the following URL
http://www.waveneyrivercentre.co.uk/news/events/2013-08-04/
which is apparently linked from
http://www.waveneyrivercentre.co.uk/news/events/category/boat-trips/week/2013-07-29
I’m also seeing 404 errors relating to event pages which end in /feed (which must have been created automatically). For example
http://www.waveneyrivercentre.co.uk/news/event/norfolk-holiday-lodges-for-sale-open-day/2013-03-23/feed
which is linked from
http://www.waveneyrivercentre.co.uk/news/event/norfolk-holiday-lodges-for-sale-open-day/2013-03-23
hope someone can help with this?February 12, 2014 at 7:43 pm #104024Neill
MemberHi James,
Thanks for your note and your determination to find a solution to this particular issue. Its users like you that eventually help us get to the root of issues like this. So thanks again!
We are actively working on this issue as we speak and also do not want to accept this as a fact of life. I do not have any new info I can give you right now – but I’m going to chat with one of the developers and show them your particular scenario and see if this can help with the issue. Great work in pointing out specific examples, very helpful.
I’ll keep this thread open for now and keep you updated.
Thanks

ParticipantHi,
anything new on this problem? If not, is it possible to create some kind of 301 redirect for this? I mean a redirect that automatically detects URLs with “/feed” at the end. Of course, creating redirects manually works too, but I don’t wanne do that for every single calendar entry. -
