ParticipantI updated today The Events Calendar 4.5.5 et Events Calendar Pro 4.4.11.1 and I noticed that Google Maps is not showing up on event page, only on venue page.
Some old events can retain the Google Map on the event page ex:
https://www.badmintonquebec.com/evenement/challenge-univestrie-eliteabc-no-1-2016-2017If I create a new event, the Google Map is only visible if I click on the venue link. I dont like that :o(
ex:
https://www.badmintonquebec.com/evenement/challenge-univestrie-eliteabc-1-2017-2018I create an Google Map API just in case that could help, no chance!
Idea?
Thanks

KeymasterHi Carole,
Thanks for reaching out! I took a look at your site, and I see what you mean.
I did a quick test on my end with the previous version and the latest version and was not able to recreate the issue. Could you try testing for conflicts with your theme and plugins and let me know what you find? If you do not want to do this on your live site, I would recommend using a plugin like WP Staging that will let you make a quick copy of your live site, which you can use for testing.
Let me know how it goes!
Thanks,
Jennifer

ParticipantHello Jennifer
I tried WP Staging. I found a curious difference when I am on Staging or on the normal site.
see 2 screens shoot joined. When I am with WP Staging, I can click or not “Show google map” on the edit page of an event.
When I am with normal site, I just see a special icon beside “Lieu” (Venue) and no click available to show or not the Google map on edit page.On WP Staging (same theme/same extensions), I dont have the issue I had and I can see the Google map on the even page. I just dont see why and how to get it on normal site.
thank in advance

KeymasterHi Carole,
I’m glad to hear it’s working in your test site at least!
You have all of the same plugins active on your test site as on the live site? Can you try going into the venue (College de Valleyfield here) and seeing if setting “Show Google Map” there makes a difference?
Thanks,
Jennifer

Participantwow it seems working now. I suppect a conflict with Duplicate Post extension.
I tried to add my new events for our new season and I used Duplicate Post to “duplicate” events of last year. Those event was in trouble.
If I use “new draft” and not “duplicate”, I get my Google Map on the venue page! If I add a new event that is OK too!
The only remaining question is why that didnt work when I added event (without using Duplicate Post) 5 days ago? Well I still dont know.
We can close the issue. Thanks for your help.

KeymasterHi Carole,
That’s great! I’m glad to hear it’s working for you now, and it sounds like you might have found the source of the issue! I’ll go ahead and close this out, but please feel free to open a new one if you run into any further issues.
Thanks,
Jennifer
