Google Maps issue

Hi,
I encounter some issues with the Google Map located in the event frontend page : it perfectly works with most of the events, but for specific venues, the google map is not showing up, even if the “Show Google Maps” option is checked.
What is really weird is that it appears immediately when i check the option in the admin area, but as soon as I save the event, it disappears… and the map is not showing up on the front.

I tried a lot of things (regenerating the event venue, changing the address, etc) but don’t know where to look anymore… ! Would you have any idea ?

Hi Emeline, Google Maps don’t seem to work on either of the URLs you provided (at least not for me). A couple of Javascript issues I noticed on both pages:

• Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method ‘setAttribute’ of null … you can see the code that is causing this here http://pastebin.com/N15NJUHN
• Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame with URL http://www.detoursdescene.com/fiche-concert/randy-weston from frame with URL http://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/ads?client=ca-pub-4203252534187327&shortened Domains, protocols and ports must match … perhaps relating to an advertising plugin you are using?

Some tried and true troubleshooting steps you could run through include disabling all other plugins and reverting to a default theme such as Twenty Eleven.

If this eliminates the problem, try reactivating everything one at a time – testing at each stage to see if the problem comes back. That way you should be able to isolate any conflicts to one or more plugins (or your theme), which might get us on track to solving this 🙂

Thanks a lot for your quick answer ! It seems that I’ve made a mistake in the URLs, actually the one that works is : http://www.detoursdescene.com/fiche-concert/cool-cavemen

Since this one works perfectly while it is strictly based on the same event template than the other event, I excluded -maybe too quickly- the “plugin conflicts” cause.
Anyway, I’ll have a look at the javascript issues and try reverting to a default theme to know more about this issue..

Sure. Actually I see the same errors on the page you just linked to – although if the map works then perhaps that isn’t the real problem. However it would be good to run through the standard troubleshooting steps first of all.

One other point, are the addresses (for events that are not showing) complete and valid?

Hi !
I finally found the cause (by chance).
The map doesn’t work when the country is ‘France Métropolitaine’ instead of ‘France’. Weird, but it works now !
