ParticipantI believe this is also Theme related. The Google Map does not display (when I revert to Fifteen it does). As well, I have used the code in my Functions PHP, as the iCal and Google Calender buttons were misaligned.

ParticipantHowdy again Richard,
I took a look at your site andinvestigated the error. It does not appear to be a CSS issue, and no JS error is thrown. The likely cause of this error is the Google Maps in your footer. Sometimes other plugins load a different version of Google maps that overrides the usual one, and this can cause problems.
Trying to integrate the theme might be a bit problematic and require some PHP knowhow, but I will do my best to break it down. First, you might try disabling the footer Map in your theme. If there is a setting, try that. If not, try dequeueing the scripts and hiding the element from displaying. Does our Gmap now display? If so, try unhiding the element. Do they both display? If not, you will likely need to try our a different way to show your gmap in the footer. Perhaps a different plugin, or writing your map using the API loaded with Tribe’s plugin which you could enquque on every page.
Does that all make sense? Will that work for you? Please let me know.
Cheers!

ParticipantHi Brook,
So are you saying that the Google Map I am using in the footer is in conflict with yours? It’s actually embed code directly from Google and now a widget in that location. I removed it and the map did not appear. If I were to use the Tribe API – how would I do that? As well, is it possible it is the template page size? As there does not seem to be enough space on the page to actually display a map?
with respect,
Richard

MemberHi Richard,
Just popping in to see if I can assist as Brook may be unavailable today.
You highlighted that the problem is specific to your theme and I notice you have setup some template overrides (ie, there is a tribe-events subdirectory within your theme). Might the changes made within here be impacting?
What happens if you temporarily rename this to temp__tribe_events (or anything but the expected name) – of course the general layout may change, but do you find the map appears as expected?
Beyond any template overrides in that subdirectory, can you briefly enumerate any other event related customizations you might have made via the theme’s functions.php file or similar? Could you perhaps try temporarily commenting these out in case one is the “culprit”?
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Barry,
I tried disabling as you suggested – no go. I will copy the Theme designer, as I did not set up the subdirectory.

Richard

ParticipantHowdy Richard,
Thank you for checking into that. We definitely are keen to work with theme authors and hep make things compatible. If I can get a copy of the theme I could test further. Or if the theme author wants we will definitely give them access to the plugins. Did you hear anything back from the author yet?

ParticipantThanks Brock – just wanted to confirm as I discuss this with the Theme Designer. We have developed three templates and they do not seem to be displayed on any of them.
with ongoing thanks,
Richard

ParticipantThat is strange. Thank you for working between the two support teams, ours and your themes. I know that’s not usually very fun or easy. If there is anything I can do to ease the pain please let me know.
I’ll wait to hear from you. Cheers!

ParticipantHi Brook,
The Theme designer has informed me that the maps had – actually – been intentionally disabled. So that explains it and – in the context for this site – that functionality is not required.
Thanks again!
with respect,
Richard
