ParticipantHello,
I have enabled Google Maps coordinates and it works well on the mini map, but it doesn’t by clicking the “+ google map” button on the venue : it shows the address instead of the coordinates.
Thank you.May 11, 2016 at 11:05 am #1113344Cliff
MemberHi Adage. Thanks for your question.
I tried to replicate your issue and this is how things worked for me:
- Venue edit screen: http://cl.ly/1Z0Q210m3D42
- Front-end event view with event at that Venue: http://cl.ly/280C0y2r3B0B
Please let me know if things are different on your site.

ParticipantThe screenshots show precisely the problem.
I don’t want the Google Maps to use an Addresse : I want it to use ONLY the coordinates.
Please see here : http://sortir.adage.bf/evenement/alcina-de-georg-friedrich-haendel/
The mini map of the Venue is OK on this page, but when I click “+ Google Map”, the Google Map shows this page https://www.google.com/maps/search/01+BP+561+Ouagadougou+Burkina+Faso/@37.0625,-95.677068,4z/data=!3m1!4b1?hl=en, which I don’t want : I want it to show the right coordinates, not the address.

MemberCould you please send a screenshot of that Venue’s wp-admin edit page?

MemberI entered the address only: http://cl.ly/0O2z0g2b1O1f — database view: http://cl.ly/0e1r371U4545
Then added the custom lat/long: http://cl.ly/2u222c0I3T0R — database view: http://cl.ly/0u433G3t3Y3M
Resulted in the same link that your site produced: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=01+BP+561+Ouagadougou+Burkina+Faso
I manually created this link to see if it’ll work and it seems to have: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=12.3702296,-1.5279159 –> http://cl.ly/0l051k39350F
Please confirm if that is the link you’d prefer or if you were thinking of something else.

ParticipantHello and thank you.
http://cl.ly/0l051k39350F is in deed the right position of the venue.
But I need the “+ Google Map” link on the Venue page to link to that same coordinates, instead of using the address.
Thank you.May 13, 2016 at 7:23 am #1114235Cliff
MemberThank you for confirming.
I’ll mark this ticket as Pending Fix, which means this thread should receive a reply once the applicable fix has been released. I cannot guarantee when it will be fixed as it’s in the development team’s hands now. They need to assign it, code it, test it, and schedule it for release. I apologize for this issue and appreciate your understanding and patience.
In case you’re interested, the code that generates this link is at https://github.com/moderntribe/the-events-calendar/blob/4.1.3/src/Tribe/Main.php#L2920 and we can see that it’s building its URL from
'address', 'city', 'region', 'zip', 'country'and not accounting for Pro’s'_VenueLat', '_Venue_Lng'fields.May 28, 2016 at 9:35 am #1120083Support Droid
