    Hey there,

Completely random question and I am only asking for your professional opinion and if you’ve come across this with other customers. I know this is not a supported question but it can’t hurt to ask your experience.

When we use the Events Calendar google has no problem picking up our events and cleanly showing them as “upcoming events” within the google cache, on the google biz page of our business, etc. This must be because of you dropping in the right info and schema so google can organize this in its cache.

But what if you rename /events? What if you change it to /parties or /workshops. Would this basically kill off Google finding these as “events” and not integrate them nicely on your biz page or as ‘upcoming events’ for your biz?

Just curious on this. I would like to use a different name for /events, but I dont want to harm my appearance in google’s cache either.

    Hey Dan

Our events are using JSON-LD data (similar information that tells Google these are “events”). Even if you change the permalink from /events to something else, the underlying code will still tell Google this is an event, etc.

Of course, Google ultimately will do what they please, and no amount of code on our end can convince the search engine to pick things up or guarantee the expected outcome.

    Thanks
    Courtney 🙂
