ParticipantMemphis is in Central Time Zone … which is UTC-6 … not Mountain time. When I add this to my calendar, the times are wrong. It’s 2 hours behind, not 1 hour (the screen capture does not show this).
Is this a bug/error – or am I doing something wrong?

MemberGood evening Laura and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us and providing your system info.
We are sorry to hear about the time of the exported event being incorrect with the Google export button.
I would love to help you with this topic.
The first thing that I am noticing is that your WordPress installation is set to the New York Time Zone. I would recommend setting the timezone to Memphis instead in Settings > General.
Secondly, could you tell me what your settings are in Events -> Settings -> General under the timezone section (way at the bottom of the screen) ?
Best regards,
Geoff B.

ParticipantHi Geoff –
We’re headquartered in Atlanta and Memphis is one of Store locations (we have 25 in various timezones). I had to restore a copy of the website from 1 day prior, so I’ve had the pleasure of re-doing some work (lol).
Interestingly enough, using “Chicago” as the Timezone created the correct export: https://diyanddrive.pullapart.com/event/memphis-customer-appreciation-day-4/2016-07-15/
The timezone section is set to ‘use the local timezones for each event’

MemberGood evening Laura,
Thank you for writing back and for trying different settings.
I’m sorry to hear that you had to restore a copy of the website 🙁Thank you also for providing more info on how your setup spans across various timezones.
In that case, the best configuration is:
- Use the timezone of your main branch as the general WordPress timezone. Which, as you found out, is Chicago in your case.
- ‘use the local timezones for each event’ in Events -> Settings -> General
- As you are creating each event, make sure that it’s timezone setting matches the location it’s in
Is there anything else I could help you on with this topic?
Have a great day!
Geoff B.
