ParticipantHi,
I have activated both pro calendar and tickets. I recently Google searched “Honolulu Events” (without quotes) and amazingly Google returned a lot of the events and conferences happening within 7 & 14 days in the Honolulu area. I have an event scheduled in my events calendar pro for January 10th, but I do not see the event when I search on Google. I have SEO Yoast installed as well and I have enabled SEO for my events, but I do not see my event in my search. I then found this article https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/event describing how events should be “coded” in my site so that Google understands the event. Can Events Calendar Pro already do this and I’m missing a setting? Or is this something that will come in the future?
Thanks!
BTW I love both PluginsJanuary 2, 2018 at 11:43 am #1416383Patricia
MemberHey Sarah,
Thank you for reaching out to us!
I believe that Schema Markup is the functionality that you are looking for. Schema.org takes care of all the structured data needs on your website. You can use it to markup your events so Google can pick up this data and present it in an enhanced way. To help you get started, I would recommend you to check the following articles:
https://blog.kissmetrics.com/get-started-using-schema/
https://yoast.com/structured-data-schema-ultimate-guide/
https://yoast.com/json-ld/
https://moz.com/learn/seo/schema-structured-dataI’ve also found the following plugin that might help you to achieve what you want (although I didn’t test it with our plugins):
I hope this helps! If you have any other questions at all please feel free to let me know and I’d be happy to help as best I can!
Cheers,
Patricia

MemberHi Sarah,
My apologies as I didn’t mention this in my previous reply: The Events Calendar does use Schema.org markup (in JSON format) for calendar events. You can explore the markup that’s used for our events by viewing the source code for any single event on our WP Shindig demo site.
If you want to enhance this functionality I would also recommend you to check this plugin:
Thanks!
