Google calendar import issue with ical format

I am getting this error.
There was an error fetching the results from your import: Events could not be imported. The URL provided did not have events in the proper format.

I also tried the .ics file to import, I couldn’t.

My public ics sample is https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/hampdencharter.org_5nu2dr30b4lh7d7pccieee3pbc%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics

Either cannot import the link or a downloaded file import is giving the error above. Is there a way to solve this issue?
