Google Calendar & ical on mobile – event no found

Hi,

When I click on the + Google Calendar button on my mobile it opens up my Google Calendar App but come up with a Event not found error. If I hit the ical Export button it downloads the ics file but upon opening says ‘it can’t launch the event’. Desktop works fine. This happens on your demo and my site.

Hi Cliff,

Ok been doing some testing. On my phone (Samsun GS4) which has Google Calendar app installed it gives the error. On another GS4 without the app installed it opens Chrome and sends you to the online google calendar, but before hand warns you that you are about to view a desktop version of the page, if you say ok it works (As per your video), if not then it redirects you to the mobile version and fails to show the event.

Darren, I’ve had a few others test with Android devices that have Google Calendar app installed and confirmed the issue.

I’ll mark this ticket as Pending Fix, which means this thread should receive a reply once the applicable fix has been released. I cannot guarantee when it will be fixed as it’s in the development team’s hands now. They need to assign it, code it, test it, and schedule it for release. Hi Darren,

We wanted to let you know that we were unable to provide a fix for the issue you reported here about events being unable to be imported by the Google Calendar app on an Android phone. As it turns out, this is actually a known issue with Android itself which means it is something we are unable to fix on our end.

Thanks for the heads up on this so we could look into it further and find information that will be helpful to others who might find themselves in the same situation.
