    Hi there,

Is there a way to add a Lat/Long of an event as well as the address? Let me clarify…

    Here’s the address:
    307 Rock Canyon Rd.
    Elephant Butte, NM 87935

    Here’s the actual location:
    33.201442, -107.226126

Google Maps locates it in a very different place than it’s actual location. I really need to have that address “mapped” via it’s lat/long location. Is this possible?

    Thanks so much!

    Hello marcosfigueroa,

I created a venue at that address and I get a lat/lon that is very similar to yours: 33.2104689, -107.224163

Can you reply with the wrong lat/lon you are currently getting?

You may find the Event Rocket plugin to be very useful. It is experimental and we are not able to support it, but it was created by one of our developers and it might give you some of the answers you’re looking for. You can control the lat/lon of venues directly.

Does this make sense? Let me know if this doesn’t work for you.

    Cheers!

Looks like I’ll try that plugin since it gives me the option to add coordinates to the address…the location isn’t close to where we’re located. It’s off just enough to be very confusing…. 🙂

I’ll let you know how it turns out.

    Thanks,

    Marcos

Unfortunately….that plugin did nothing. The mapping didn’t change.

This is the venue in question. Thanks!

You should be able to put the coordinates in the ‘venue’ page, not the ‘events’ page (once the venue is saved).

I think this is a failing of Google Maps, as a search on the stand alone version gives the same position. Has there been construction recently? You may want to contact them to get it updated.

Does this make sense? Let me know if I can explain anything else!

    Cheers!

I was able to put the coordinate in the venue page…that’s what I linked to. It just didn’t change anything…

It is most definitely a google issue, but google will map coordinates, unfortunately…the plugin isn’t changing anything. I have contacted google, but that won’t be a quick fix, so I was looking for something to correct the problem at hand…

    Thanks!!

    Hello marcosfigueroa,

Sorry for the confusion. The lat/lon is only for the ‘Map’ view of all events with a geolocation.

On the single venue and event pages, the map is based on the given address.

Sorry I forgot about the distinction between the two.

I’m not sure I can offer a great fix while Google updates their maps. Perhaps it would be best to remove the map from that event/venue in the mean time. That way the address is still there, but not the incorrect map. Then you could use another map plugin if you wanted to, and add a map based on the coordinates.

I’m not certain this will work, but you’ll have to think outside the box to find a solution here.

Sorry for the disappointing answer! 🙁

Let me know if I can answer anything else!

    Hello marcosfigueroa,

    Happy it worked out!

We’d love it if you would leave us a review and let people know how much you like the plugin! http://m.tri.be/jt

I’ll go ahead and close this thread. Let us know if we can help with anything else.
