ParticipantIn trying to combine two websites into one, I’m adding a Business Directory plugin called Geodirectory. The issue is, it’s conflicting with Google Maps on the Events Calendar (not throughout the site, our Contact page map still works). It is also conflicting with the Fliter Bar. The bar shows, but does not work.
I did just run the latest update on all of our Events Calendar plugins.
I’m not sure if this is something you guys are able to support or not. I’ve definitely isolated it to the Geodirectory plugin, but I’m not sure what to do from there to fix the conflict. I know enough about WordPress to be dangerous and make file changes, but I would put myself on the lower end of intermediate.
Here is the calendar page: http://www.jewishcolorado.org/events/
Here is one of the events with the map: http://www.jewishcolorado.org/event/kotrdeletrodef-from-our-dor-to-your-door-love-makes-you-a-believer/
Worth noting: we have not invested in any Business Directory plugin, so if you could recommend a plugin that works with Events Calendar Pro, etc, I would totally take your recommendation.
Thank you!

ParticipantOkay, so it’s actually causing issues on other parts of the website as well, so if you have a recommendation for a Business Directory plugin, awesome! If not, this is totally resolved. Yeesh. 🙂

ParticipantHey Rachel,
I’m really sorry to hear about these conflicts!
It sounds like the geodirectory plugin was problematic on your site beyond with just Events, as you write in your last reply here. I can indeed mark this thread resolved, but as far as Business Directory plugin recommendations, I unfortunately do not have any recommendations off the top of my head or based on personal use.
Can you elaborate a bit on your goals with such a plugin? How should the end result on your site look and function? If you’re trying to build a simple directory of listings, then there might be a more general “listings” plugin that works well even if it’s not specifically built for a business directory; for example, this “job listing” plugin is phenomenal and very well-made → https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-job-manager/
While not specifically for “businesses”, many of its features might work just as well for your directory-building….
Thank you,

ParticipantThis is the current…um…situation: http://www.myjewishcolorado.org
Not the cleanest thing, and we’re trying to keep everything on one website. At this point, it’s not looking like there’s an easy solution to combine two sites into one.

ParticipantThanks Rachel!
I took a look and it does seem like my suggestion to use WP Job Manager might be a good one! Like I mentioned above, it’s not built specifically for business directory listings, but it’s a really solid “listing”-based plugin regardless and might work well.
Merging sites is indeed a bit tricky, and I wish you the best of luck with your project!
Sincerely,
