ParticipantI’m sure there’s a simple fix, but I’m not finding it – all my events’ descriptions are being truncated and not showing their full description. When I click on the “find out more” link, it just recycles me back to the same shorted version. I’ve tried finding something in the Events Calendar settings and wordpress apperance settings, but no luck. Anyone know what I might be missing?

MemberGood evening Cyril and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about this odd behaviour on your site!
I would love to help you with this topic.I went ahead and took a look at https://adventureracehub.com/adventureracescalendar.
You are right, the list view only displays excerpts.
From there, I clicked on the “Find out more” link and was brought to https://adventureracehub.com/race/big-chill-8-4-hour-adventure-races/
In the end single-event page, I could see the full description.
Here are 2 things that might help:
- I would recommend deactivating and removing the Event Rocket plugin completely. This plugin is known to break with the Events Calendar family plugins since 4.x+. The vast majority of its features are now built-in in our other plugins.
- You can control how the excerpt displays. I would recommend reading this: https://theeventscalendar.com/the-trouble-with-excerpts/
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

ParticipantI eliminated that plugin, and have slowly started re-activiating all other plugins on the site, but I’m still getting the same issue, and others are reporting the same thing. When they click on “next events” at the bottom of the page, it doesn’t take to the next events, just back to the top of the page. On top of that, the map stays gray. Any other ideas why this is happening?

MemberGood evening Cyril,
Thank you for your answer.
At this point it is hard to say for sure what is causing these issues, but I would like to investigate this with you.
One thing I would recommend is to make sure you re-save your permalinks after deactivating every plugin AND re-saving every problematic event.
Could you provide me with specific examples of URLs that create that issue ?
I am also noticing that your PHP max execution is set to -1. You might want to tweak your server to set that to at least 30 (if not 300).
A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.

Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)
Let me know how that goes.Best regards,
