My theme has a file or script conflict that causes the previous / next events link to fail. I’ve discovered the files that conflict, it’s links to the foundation jquery.js and foundation.min.js in my footer area. Obviously a 2nd jquery isn’t necessary but I’m not sure if foundation.min.js will be needed. If you have a chance, can you see by chance what the specific conflict might be with your dev tools. Right now I’ve got the links to the scripts enabled so you can see it fail on the prev/next buttons. Thanks for any advice. An aside, I still like using foundation 3.2.5 because it has better IE8 support than subsequent versions.

Hi there – sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties.

It definitely isn’t optimal to load two different versions of jQuery and as it seems to be your theme that is responsible for this I’d strongly recommend taking this question over to them and asking A) how you can dequeue it, and B) if this will indeed have any effect/if foundation.min.js will successfully continue to run with the default version of jQuery bundled with WordPress.

Is that a possibility here? I’m afraid it’s really difficult for us to assess this and really you – quite possibly with the assistance and knowledge of the theme author – will be in the best position to determine if the theme will suffer adversely should those resources be removed.

    Is that possible here?

    Thanks!

the previous / next links have an ajax event listener on them. Something in foundation.min.js is causing the problem but I can’t drill down to it. Fortunately it’s not an essential file for my install because I’m not using foundations plugins or special menu javascript. My template is pretty vanilla grid-only usage of Foundation 3.2.5. I’m glad to at least have this documented though because things can disrupt that event listener and hopefully this helps others.

OK – and just to confirm (because I see you marked this as resolved) do you need any further assistance?

Hi! It’s been a while so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread. If we can help with anything else, though, please don’t hesitate to create new threads as needed. Thanks!
