Normally I have to ask for help, and today I wanted to share something with the community. We are creating a webcasting system and we wanted to have the ability to place the countdowns where we needed it. I searched the forums hoping someone had come up with a solution to no avail. But for us it was not an option, so I started hunting ways to turn a widget into a plugin or create a shortcode for a widget – and I found a simple plugin that will take the widget and create a shortcode for it, which means it can go on any page. the WP plugin is: Widget or Sidebar Shortcode. I was able to send it variables that corresponded to the countdown widget and i placed it right on the page for the event under the listing. It can go anywhere a shortcode can go..
