Force external URL for events in specific category

Is there a way to force events in a specific category to, rather than go to the individual events page, pull from “Website URL” and go to an external URL? Or maybe if the external url field is populated, use that instead of the default permalink? These are the events I’d like to go to an external URL: http://192.185.171.196/~faithfm/events/category/program-guide/

You might be able to adapt it for your purposes.

tribe_is_event_category() might be a good help here.
