ParticipantI have updated all the plugins ECpro and CE but the .co.uk/events/ page is now returning FORBIDDEN – please advise.
Many thanks

MemberHi @angust,
Sorry for the trouble! A “forbidden” (403 error) message is typically the result of file permissions on the server. Will you please check the file permissions for the calendar plugin (see the WordPress Codex for more info on permissions) and confirm that they are set to a level that can be read by World?
If you need direct support for setting file permissions, I would suggest reaching out to the host.
Let’s start there and see what we find. 🙂
Thanks!

MemberHey @angust,
Do you have any other pages on your site that use the /events slug? If so, will you please make sure to fully delete them and let me know if it makes a difference?
Also, if you could head to Events > Settings > Help, copy the system information on the screen and paste it here as a private reply, that will allow me to review your settings and see if anything sticks out.
Thanks!

MemberThanks for following up! This does help and I appreciate the extra info.
A couple of other questions:
- Does the message go away if you switch to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Sixteen) and deactivate all other plugins?
- When did the message start showing up? Has it always done that, or did it work before and then suddenly stop? If it suddenly stopped, can you think of any changes on the site that happened around that same time?
Thanks!

MemberThanks, @angust!
The answer to this would be helpful:
When did the message start showing up? Has it always done that, or did it work before and then suddenly stop? If it suddenly stopped, can you think of any changes on the site that happened around that same time?
Will you also please head to Pages in your WordPress dashboard and let me know if you see any other pages called Events in the title?
Lastly, what do you about this page:
http://www.businessmag.co.uk/News/Events.aspxIt appears to be an archive of Posts categorized as Events, but it’s odd that there would be .aspx at the end of the URL. Did you create that page or so you know where it’s coming from?
Thanks!

ParticipantWe got to the bottom of this – someone created a folder in the cPanel called Events which bumped the name

MemberOh wow, that’s good to know! I’ll definitely keep that in mind in case that comes up again–I certainly wouldn’t have thought of that right off the bat.
Thanks for following up and confirming! Feel free to hit us with a new thread if any other questions pop up and we’d be happy to help. 🙂
Cheers!
