ParticipantHello – the footer widget for Events Calendar Pro is no longer working on our site. Do we need to update our Events Calendar Pro? I also think that we need to renew our license, because it is no longer free to nonprofits. Will renewing the license fix the problem? Thanks!

MemberHi – I’m sorry you’re experiencing difficulties.
The presence of a license key is required to access support and automated updates – but it doesn’t actually impact on anything else and so even if it had expired it wouldn’t mean that the plugin would simply start to fail.
Can you confirm which widget you are referring to, though? I also see you already tried deactivating all other plugins in the course of troubleshooting: would it be possible to go a step further and also try switching to a default, unmodified theme such as Twenty Thirteen and see if that helps to resolve the problem?
Thanks!

ParticipantIt’s the Events Calendar Pro widget. I don’t feel comfortable switching to a default theme because that caused problems when I was trying to fix a different problem (which is now settled).
Basically, the problem is that the column in our Footer where our events should be displayed is not displaying. I want the events to be listed there. How do we fix that?
Also, there is a notification at the back-end of our site that says The Events Calendar: Community Events 3.5. plug-in is out of date. What problem would that cause?
Thanks!

MemberOK, thanks! But which widget are you trying to display (for instance, is it the countdown widget or the calendar widget, or the list widget)?

There is a more recent version available – so really it’s just encouraging you to update π

ParticipantThis is happening to us, as well. We’re running WP v3.8.3
http://887thecross.com/Our plugin is up-to-date … our license is valid … we have no conflicting plugins. It simply stopped listing the Events in the Footer.

ParticipantInteresting. Will you please keep me up to date on how to fix the problem? I managed to add the events back to the footer, but it has larger text, so it can’t fit as large of list as before.

ParticipantBump.

MemberHi Rob,
It’s generally best to avoid jumping into other people’s threads unless you are absolutely certain the problem and the cause are identical to that of the original poster. It’s usually a lot faster and avoids confusion if you create a new thread of your own π
Please also refrain from “bumping” threads. It’s often counter-productive on forums like this one (it makes it appear as though you’ve only been waiting since the time when you bumped things) and, in any case, while we try hard to respond within 24hrs during the working week nothing like that time has elapsed since you posted.

So it sounds like you sorted things out @robpoole which is fantastic. Can you confirm this is resolved? It would also be fantastic to hear what you did to add them back.
