Has this problem with Canvas from woothemes been solved? I have seen many posts around 6 months ago with various solutions. The Fixing a Mangled Events Page (https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/fixing-a-garbled-single-events-page/) has code snippet that doesnt solve the issue for me. Help!

Hi – sorry for the delay.

When I visit your main events page (which I’m taking to be /events/) I don’t see quite that problem. Can you confirm if this has since been resolved or else point to an example of the issue?

    Hi Barry
I placed the code snippet in functions php as recommended here – https://tri.be/garbled-events-page-fix/
It changed the events page from having the ‘garbled’ message (apparently an excerpt)to a what is now visible – http://happinessis.co.za/events/

I am using the ‘Default Page Template’ and the ‘Tribe Events Styles’ options selected. If I change to the ‘Default Events Template’ I see the correct appearance on the events page (other than sidebar lost), but then on the single event page all the styling is lost, i.e. no margins, sidebar, etc.
    Thanks for helping

OK … I mean to me, both the main events page at http://happinessis.co.za/events/ and one of your single event pages like http://happinessis.co.za/event/herbs-for-animals-foundation-hfa1/ look fine. So my understanding is that the problem you are describing only surfaces when you use the Default Events Template.

Is that correct and, if so, is there a reason you can’t simply keep using the Default Page Template? I could be misunderstanding you of course, please just let me know if so.

    Thanks!

Does this page display the list of events and the calender as expected?
    http://happinessis.co.za/events/
For me it shows a list (long versions rather than excerts), and with weird styling of the elements.

Sorry for any confusion: no, that’s not what I’d expect “out of the box” in list view – but I imagined it was the result of a customization you had made (simply because it doesn’t look bad and I’m not convinced its connected to the fix for the garbled events page).

Have you made any other customizations (such as overridding our templates) and if so can you try rolling them back or temporarily removing them? Can you also keep your theme and our plugins activated but deactivate everything else in case something else is impacting?

    Thanks!

No customization made other than css to remove the navigation above single events done today.
I have now removed the code snippet you guys provided for canvas – you will see the “garbled” contents that the fix is supposed to sort out for canvas. Deactivation rest of plugins hasn’t changed the problem. Judging from many other posts it seems to be a canvas related problem. Bought Wootickets and installed along with woocommerce. Hence the use of TEC. http://happinessis.co.za/events/

    Not sure if this helps:
the category page also shows ‘garbled’ style. HOWEVER, when code snippet is placed in functions php, the correct styling does show up here (in contrast to events page). Also the category page is showing the correct sidebar. The calender view unfortunately overlays the sidebar. Correct sidebar does not show up on either events page or single event pages.

    Ind event page: http://happinessis.co.za/event/herbs-for-animals-foundation-hfa1/

Thanks – we just tested with the latest code from Canvas and (though I don’t believe this cropped up only a few minor versions back) I can now replicate this.

In addition to the fix you already added, can you try adding this snippet also – does that help?
