GuestHello!
We have a few questions on what the free plugin can / can’t do in order to figure out whether we should purchase the PRO version of the calendar plugin.
Since our company has two locations where we regularly hold events, we want to be able to split out the events calendar on our website by location, or to be able to filter calendar events by location. It looks as though the multiple calendar feature has been often requested and is under consideration for upcoming updates, but my question is if this functionality is currently available in the free version? Is it possible in the PRO version?
We also have an Events sidebar widget that displays a list of upcoming events. Does the current free version support displaying events based on category/location? Is that available with PRO?
Thanks so much for your help!

ParticipantHello Kristina,
You’ve got a couple of questions there so let’s take one at a time.
First, you asked can you filter/display events by location. Yes. With The Events Calendar plugin, you’ll be able to include your locations (we call them venues) and build pages for each of them separately. To be clear, the events would all be in one “calendar” but you’d be able to filter what was displayed on a page by venue, or category if you chose that approach instead. So the answer to your first questions is yes – with the free The Events Calendar plugin.
The answer to your second question is also yes, you can have a sidebar widget that displays upcoming events for a particular category of events. However, to do that you’ll need the Events Calendar PRO plugin (the premium plugin). Actually, it’s nearly a choice of a dozen configurations of what can be included the sidebars. I would think that you’d be able to find at least one that would work for you.
