Filtering calendar events

Hi,

The Arts Hawai’i Calendar has been set up to provide listing of arts events across our state. Since our state is comprised of individual islands it’s unlikely that our audience will go to another island for a single event. We’d like to filter on the island. We’d like to know if we can do this with the filter bar. Ideally our users will be able to select by Event Catagory (such as concert, exhibit etc) and Island (such as “Hawai’i, Mau’i etc). So in English the question might be “Show me all concerts on Mau’i.” In my research so far it looks like we would have to use our current “Event Catagory” to indicate Island, but then we’d give up collecting other useful information about our events.

Any suggestions?

Howdy Peter,

That sounds quite possible. With Events Calendar Pro  you can add custom fields. You could make a custom field called “Island” and specify which island each event takes place on. From there Filter Bar  can offer the option to select which island a customer is interested in, and they can further narrow it down by category. Does that sound like what you’re looking for?
