ParticipantI’m a little baffled – it seems as if the Filter Bar can’t filter by date – only by days of the week – is that correct?

MemberHey Karl,
Thanks for getting in touch! In fact there’s no date filter in FilterBar, just for day of the week and time in the day. The date filter is in the ‘events bar’: https://cloudup.com/cEwWS-W2Kxk.
Please let me know if you have any other doubt,

ParticipantHi Nico, that’s not going to help with our needs I’m afraid. I see that there is provision for adding an “additional field”, and filtering on that – any field I guess, including startdate? Do you have a tutorial on doing that, or does anyone have any experience?

MemberThanks for following up Karl, and sorry to hear this doesn’t work for your project 🙁
You can add PRO additional fields as filters, I guess that’s what you are referring in you reply. Unfortunately you can’t add a filter for the start date or other fields in the event. But it’s possible to create custom filters (see example custom taxonomy filter), if you feel confident with your programming skills you can give this customization a try.

ParticipantHi Nico, just don’t have a lot of time for custom coding on this project, so a quick fix might be: buy the calendar pro plugin, it will give the option to add an additional field (and what I’m thinking is this additional field would be a drop down menu of just dates) to all our new AND existing events, we can then go in, select the date, save the event, and we can then filter on that at the filter bar on the front end. Can you see any reason why that wouldn’t work?

MemberThat sounds good to me Karl. You can go ahead and purchase Events Calendar PRO and give this a try. If you decide the workaround with additional fields doesn’t work, you can ask for a full refund within 30 days of purchase. For more information take a look at our refund policy.
Please let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with,
