is is possible to have the calendar placed on a page where the filters are already selected ie /calendar would show all events
/music would only show events related to the filter specified as music automatically without the user selecting the filter

Sure thing! There are several options for you here. Without the Filter Bar plugin, you can link directly to single filters such as an event category by linking to “/events/category/music”.

If you would like to use the Filter Bar and have the filter active, you can definitely do this as well. When using the plugin, you’ll notice that each selection appends a value to the end of the URL. To link directly to a pre-selected view, select the filters and then copy the new URL that is generated to use as your link.
