ParticipantThere’s been a couple topics posted in UserVoice for some time regarding adding a Location filter to TEC/Filter Bar (here and here).
In recent month’s there’s been a number of users who have commented about its availability and why this feature (filter by state/province) isn’t a simple addition to the Filter Bar. I wanted to formally ask about this here as it seems the authoritative topic has yet to receive any response. Is this feature on your roadmap for 3.11, 3.12, or even 4.0?
Any update on the status of this being considered or added to the roadmap would be much appreciated. This is a critical feature for our calendar and if you do not have any plans to add it in 2015, we may have a 3rd party developer add this functionality to the Filter Bar. If we were to go that route, would you be interested in obtaining the code for use in the core Filter Bar so other users can benefit from the added functionality?

MemberHi,
I can answer your questions as both a developer of the plugin and on the support team.
I do not have any update on the status of adding that as a filter to the filter bar.
Unfortunately, we do not release our roadmap or give a timeline for any feature until it is ready to be shipped in at least beta form.
I can say this feature will not be in the 3.11 release, which will be out in the next couple of weeks.
Also, I am not sure if we would accept coding and integrate it into the plugin. It would depend on the coding itself, but we would not reject it outright and would give it a look over.
Let me know if you have any follow up questions.
Thanks

MemberYou’re Welcome.
We had another thread yesterday asking for the same feature. His solution was to create a custom taxonomy and add that as a filter.
You can see his work here:
That may get you started on what you are looking for.
Cheers
