ParticipantI’ve just purchased this product with the assumption I could use the filter bar alongside any calendar (which my understanding is that I need to use shortcodes for).
It took me 20 minutes of searching to find out why it wasn’t just naturally showing up with the shortcode… this seems crazy that it was not more obvious that it wouldn’t be included in the calendar view except for that one default page.
I have read you say they are on the main calendar page, but I need to have that calendar in amongst my pages. Is there a work around? It is the most upvoted feature and I don’t feel like it was a far stretch to assume it was going to be available on more than just the /events/ page.
This just seems crazy. I’ve sold my client on this product based on the description and now I don’t know how I’m going to pull of what a said I could. I really hope there is a work around to display it on other pages.

MemberHi Sarah
I can understand your frustration about this feature request (https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/17840326-make-filter-bar-compatible-with-shortcoded-calenda) not being implemented yet.
At this time, we have no workaround. I wish I had better news to share with you than that.
The functionality of Filter Bar really resides in filtering custom post meta data and displaying that on the archive page “Events”. Basically, this is something rather complex to turn into a shortcode-capable feature. Do comment on the UserVoice request above if you’d like to be notified when we have an update.
We do offer 30 day refunds if you find the plugin does not meet your needs. It’s just a matter of submitting a refund request form at https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/refund-policy/. s
Thanks

ParticipantOk thank you for your reply. I have already added my vote and comment of concern. I really hope this is looked at. I also suggest having more explanation on the product itself to show it is only for the main archive page.
So now to work out how to get around this. I need the product and my client wants the filter, so I won’t be asking for a refund.
Can you please point me in the direction of some documentation on editing the archive pages where the filter do work. I have already tried to add archive-events.php to my child theme and work with that, but it doesn’t seem to be impacting on the page. http://new.trufflefestival.com.au/events/ I will need to add content, like a header and wording to go with the calendar, unlike how it is just dumped on a plain page at the moment. I’m happy to do the editing, if you have any documentation on editing these specific pages.
Thank you for your help.
