ParticipantHi,
I had the same issue as John highlighted in his post on 11/12/15.
I followed the steps of backing up my site, then changing the FTP back to an older version of the event calender although this did not work. when trying to click on the event calendar tab in my site i would get a 404 page not found issue for both this and the community events section.
I then tried to update the events calendar back to its most recent form but this still lead to same issue.
Failing all that I looked to restore my initial back up made before messing around with any plug ins but this too failed as the uploader couldn’t locate the initial file- my site is effectively down and can’t be restored, any ideas how to resolve asap?!
Thanks

MemberHi @eandp,
I’m sorry to hear you’ve had such a rough experience – that’s unfortunate but hopefully we can help get you back on track.
What I’d recommend is working toward restoring our plugins using the most recent releases currently available. One way to do this would be to navigate to the wp-content/plugins directory (via FTP if you are happy with that approach) and remove The Events Calendar and any other of our event plugins such as Filter Bar and Community Events.
Next, download fresh copies of those plugins from wordpress.org and our downloads page.
From here you have a couple of choices. If you can now access your WordPress dashboard then you might be able to go to the plugin screen and upload the plugin zips and activate them from there. If you cannot access the dashboard/your admin environment on the other hand, that might suggest a more serious problem and we should possibly stop and consider your options on that front.
Alternatively, you can upload the plugins via FTP – but remember that you will of course have to unzip them. If you don’t have a means of doing that once they are on your server, you may prefer to unzip them locally before you upload them.
From there, try reactivating them and flush your permalinks by visiting the Settings → Permalinks screen (you don’t need to change anything – just visiting this screen refreshes a list of rules kept by WordPress).
Does that help?

ParticipantHi Barry,
Thanks for coming back so quickly.
I’ve managed to get the original site back up (ie event calendar is now up and running version 3.12.6) and all seems ok except the original issue- filter bar not working/ actually filtering to the options I choose.
Is there any other way to fix this without reverting back to an earlier version of the calendar as having tried it earlier, it doesn’t seem to work on my site/ with the other plug ins being active too?
Cheers

MemberCould you link me to your site (by private reply if you prefer) so I can take a look at the specific problem you are facing?
Could you also post your system information?
Thanks!

MemberCan you confirm what the domain is?

Member… Going to assume it is the same domain I see your license keys are registered against.
That is pretty odd. You noted (when you opened this topic) that the problem persisted even with no other plugins running and only a default, unmodified theme.
For the avoidance of any doubt, can you confirm that was indeed the case and perhaps even restore it to that state so I can take a look?

MemberOne further thought: whether due to another plugin or customizations you’ve made to the your theme, the pages do not seem to finish rendering correctly.
For example, neither the body or HTML elements close as expected (and not just on event-related pages). Could it be the theme’s footer template isn’t loading, or that there is a problem somewhere in that area? That sort of thing could definitely throw a spanner in the works of plugins like Filter Bar.

ParticipantHi Barry,
-Yes the same as the keys are licensed to is the domain.
-Can confirm it definitely fails with no other plug ins installed/ activated
-You’re right, since the latest update of the events calendar the header section did appear to fail to load/ not be present. I’ve just reinstalled the latest twenty thirteen theme and appears to be running ok now!
Seems to have been the wordpress theme having a slight error in code not the plug in.
Thanks for the help much appreciated!
