I am building a ics file for import into the aggregator via url. I cannot find documentation on what field definitions can be imported in to the event calendar i.e. category, venue, organizer. Can you point me in the right direction? Documentation of examples.

    Thanks!

    Hi, Kyle.

It just supports the iCal spec. Your iCal file or URL should validate (e.g. via http://severinghaus.org/projects/icv/).

When you actually go to run the import via wp-admin, it’ll ask you if you also want to assign a category manually.

Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions on this topic.

I really like the calendar to be able to suck in categories. I know many people are asking to be able to import more data into the calendar. Can I schedule a pickup of csv files?

Sorry if it wasn’t clear by my previous reply, but EA does import the categories from the iCal file/specification.

However, you can also assign a single category to all events in a single import.

As an example, if an iCal event has the “food, dinner” categories, both will get imported, but you can also manually assign one of your existing WordPress Event Categories, such as “Tech Events”. Therefore, once imported, it would have 3 Event Categories: food, dinner, Tech Events

Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions on this topic.

Regarding scheduled CSV imports, that functionality does not currently exist, but I believe you’re requesting the same thing as one of our existing feature requests: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/17434264-add-csv-recurring-import-to-aggregator

Please do add your vote there.

This allows us to gauge interest in this particular feature request, which helps us prioritize our development efforts.

    Thank you.

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
