ParticipantHi,
I’m using the Event Tickets Plus with Woocommerce on a site. I’m having 2 problems that I think might be related and I think are because of the theme being used. The client doesn’t want to change theme so I have to find a away to solve them.
When the quantity of the ticket is changed on the event page, the additional fields should pop up (like they do on the default wordpress theme) but they don’t on this theme they stay hidden. And as the field is required I think it causes an error once you add to basket as it doesn’t add the ticket it just gives an error of: “This information is required.” so it’s not currently possible to add a ticket to the woocommerce basket.
What needs to happen on the quantity change for Event Ticket Plus to show additional fields? Is it a javascript event that needs capturing?
At the moment the tickets are also not showing up in the basket even when there’s no additional fields. We have the same setup on a dev server and it works fine, so I think it must be the theme. But I need help finding out what it is that needs fixing in the theme!September 13, 2016 at 8:38 pm #1163758Geoff B.
MemberGood evening Arqino and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the additional fields not showing up on your client’s theme.
I would love to help you with this topic. You are right, this type of behaviour is usually caused by a conflict. Either:
- With another plugin (most likely WooCommerce related)
- A modified WooCommerce related function / filter in your theme’s functions.php
What needs to happen on the quantity change for Event Ticket Plus to show additional fields?
The fields appear when there is no other function tampering / overriding with the Add to cart section.
My recommendation would be to:
- Do a quick database backup
- Try temporarily reverting to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-fifteen to see if the problem persists
If the problem is indeed caused by the theme, then you will have to look for WooCommerce related functions in the functions.php and disable them one at a time until you find the culprit.
If you are still stuck, could you please send me a copy of your WordPress theme / child theme in a .zip file link (via Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ?
Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates you might have made.Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

MemberGood evening Pete,
Thank you for the files. I have ran some additional tests.
It turns out the theme works great and as expected. So it means that the conflict is somewhere else.
The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure (preferably in a staging/dev environment or local install of your WordPress website) and let us know what you find out.Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.
But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:
- Make a backup of your database
- Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)
Additionally, you might want to take a look at your W3 Total cache setting, especially any setting touching inline stuff (JS, CSS).
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,
